Project co-financed by the European Union
REC4SMEs (Grant Agreement 101241627)
REC4SMEs (“Empowering SMEs through Renewable Energy Communities for a Sustainable Future”) supports the development of renewable energy communities in Romania, with a focus on SMEs. Renergia, the project coordinator, has launched a public call to identify beneficiaries.
Project description
The project supports the development of renewable energy communities and facilitates collaboration between local actors. It particularly aims to help SMEs, which lack the resources and expertise to develop, implement and operate such communities.
The public call targets public authorities, NGOs, homeowners’ associations, households and SMEs, with an emphasis on SMEs in the agri-food and retail sectors. The deadline for submitting an expression of interest is 1 May 2026.
The project does not offer direct financial or investment support. Participants receive free technical, legal and commercial assistance from the Renergia team to turn existing initiatives into viable projects, with benefits such as lower energy costs, greater independence from market volatility and a smaller carbon footprint.
